RADAC - Renovation & Decoration Advisory Centre
Renovation & Decoration Advisory Centre is set up as a watchdog non-profit making voluntary body to provide greater controls in the renovation industry. Accredited Renovators must satisfy eligibility requirements, technical competence and registered with HDB licence and also covered under the third party liability/public liability insurance for minimum sum of $200 000.00 per annum so as to protect the interests of both the RADAC accredited renovators and homeowners.

COST
Consumers should budget their renovation expenditure according to affordable COST.
CONSENSUS
Consumers should reach a CONSENSUS among family members for the type or extent of renovation to be carried out.
CONSULTATION
There should be CONSULTATION with relatives or friends who have carried out renovation works.
CONTACT
Consumers should CONTACT RADAC for more information before the commencement of their renovation works. They are encouraged to get a copy of the RADAC Directory, detailing some useful articles on renovation and decoration.
CONTRACT
Consumers should ensure that a proper CONTRACT is drawn before renovation. They are advised to use the RADAC Standard Contract for RADAC Accredited Renovators.
CONTRACTOR
Consumers are advised to choose the right CONTRACTOR who can undertake the desire renovation.
CONTROL
Consumers should exercise more CONTROL of the renovation works to minimise changes. Changes will cause delay in renovation works, are expensive and are one of the main cause of disputes.
CONCILIATION
Consumers should try to reach CONCILIATION with the contractors as litigation is a far more expensive and agonizing process. Consumers could approach RADAC for advice or assistance in cases of disputes.
