Timber Flooring - Know your timber flooring

Parquet - a very common term for flooring made of timber. Typical parquet size : 8" to 12" x 2". While the smaller ones is call mosaic parquet. Timber strips sizes from 2' to maybe 5-6' subject to the different types of wood. The most common wood use - Teak wood from Burma and Indonesia. The more expensive wood floor availiable here in Sinagpore are - Oak, Ramin, maple, pine. The common outdoor timber flooring and decking are usually called "chinai", "Balau".

Each type of wood has it's own charateristics, colour and torlerance.
